We will spend the first session reviewing your administrative forms exploring what has prompted your interest in therapy. We will consider setting intentions for our work together. Likely, we will explore your family history and any previous experience with treatment. Regularly scheduled sessions will focus on resolving your core trauma through reprocessing your trauma and increasing your self-compassion, sense of connection, confidence, and clarity.
-
This answer depends largely on what brings you into therapy and your perception of therapy. Healing trauma, and the grief that accompanies trauma, can take time. Many individuals find therapy to be essential to their wellbeing and choose to continue therapy as a form of ongoing self-compassion and practice that supports continued clarity and confidence.

In my experience, clients see the most benefit when they can commit to regular, consistent therapy sessions. Therapy is designed to change the way you experience yourself and your life. To this end, therapy requires time. Regularly scheduled, bi-weekly sessions allow me to support you in a way that maximizes positive outcomes. It’s difficult to build momentum working together once a month or occasionally.

We will schedule a brief call so that I can learn more about your interest in therapy, and so we can determine if our collaboration makes sense for you. We will also discuss scheduling options at that time and develop a plan for regularly scheduled sessions.
